Le Studio des Parfums: Twenty Years of Creation

For twenty years, Le Studio des Parfums has discreetly established itself as one of the most unique destinations in Parisian perfumery. Located at 21 rue des Écouffes, in the heart of the Marais, this studio founded by Patrice Dana and Sophie Soussan does not sell perfumes: it brings them to life. With over 10,000 fragrances created for a French and international clientele, the house is now celebrating a double anniversary marked by innovation, heralded by two launches that have captured the attention of both specialized and general press.

A sanctuary of French haute perfumery

From the moment you enter, the tone is set: soft lighting, carefully chosen wood paneling, antique glass and crystal bottles. Le Studio des Parfums resembles a discreet and vibrant private Parisian salon where luxury is understated. It's here, since 2010, that the brand's in-house laboratory has been operating, a true creative heart where perfumers and chemists work with over 1,200 carefully selected raw materials. Every formula conceived in this space is archived: a fragrance created today can be reproduced identically years later, offering clients a rare form of olfactory continuity.

No workshops, proposed alone, as a duo, As a family or for events like bachelorette parties, allow everyone to create their own signature scent, guided by a master perfumer. We explore the seven olfactory families, you choose your top, middle, and base notes, you measure, you mix, and you leave with a personalized bottle bearing the name of your choice. An experience that several media outlets have described as a live Proustian madeleine, as the scents unexpectedly awaken memories and emotions.

What if an AI could help you create your perfume?

The big new feature this year is LYLO, presented as the first public artificial intelligence assistant entirely dedicated to perfumery. Developed in-house from twenty years of olfactory creations and thousands of formulas accumulated in the house's laboratory, LYLO allows for the translation of desires, memories, or emotions into customized perfume structures and coherent.

Its operation is based on a database of over 1,200 raw materials. The tool adjusts the accords, dosages, and overall balance of a formula based on user preferences—floral, woody, spicy, amber. At the heart of the system is Rose, a voice assistant who guides the creator through a conversation of about sixty minutes, asking questions about tastes, scent-related memories, and desired emotions. The exchange, according to testers, is fluid and natural, with an ability to build on responses and even slip in some humor.

Patrice Dana, co-founder of the Studio and a pioneer in artificial intelligence since 2001, is clear about the tool's philosophy: «Lylo structures, the creator interprets.» LYLO does not aim to replace the perfumer's nose but to simplify its interpretation, making the creation process more accessible and intuitive. Two versions are available: one for individuals, accompanied by a home creation kit, and the other for professionals, with full access to 1,200 raw materials. The tool is multilingual and will soon be offered in over ten languages.

This innovation has gained attention far beyond the beauty industry. At the Cannes Lions 2025 International Festival of Creativity, Le Studio des Parfums announced a Collaboration with Amazon AWS around the NOVA-Sonic platform, the demonstration of which was directly inspired by the LYLO program. Tested by more than 15,000 people in Cannes, New York, and Las Vegas, the system impressed with its accuracy in recommending olfactory accords adapted to each user's cultural profile.

Boarding Pass: The Studio's First Collection

The other big news from the house is the launch of Boarding Pass, the very first perfume collection signed by Le Studio des Parfums. Conceived as a sensory postcard, the collection draws inspiration from the world's major destinations: Hong Kong and its humid effervescence, Saint Petersburg and the felted leather of its libraries, New York and the electric energy of its nights. Each fragrance is a city translated into perfume, each bottle an invitation to depart.

The packaging reflects this travel philosophy: each set is presented in the form of a travel journal and includes a map of the corresponding city. It contains two bottles—a 50 ml size and a 10 ml travel-friendly size—for 115 euros. The collection will be available starting mid-June, online and at Studio des Parfums.

Twenty years, and still the desire to go further

Through these two launches, Le Studio des Parfums affirms a contemporary vision of perfumery at the crossroads of tradition, creativity, and innovation. The house, which produces about 600 creations per year, continues to welcome both individuals seeking a unique sensory experience and professionals looking for advanced formulation tools. Tailor-made workshops, home perfume kits, immersive experiences: all within your reach.

Twenty years after its debut, Studio des Parfums celebrates more than just a journey. It is opening a new chapter in its history – more technological, more accessible, more international – without ever abandoning what makes its soul: the idea that each perfume is an invisible writing, capable of translating who one is.
