Scents find their place in music. Indeed, musical vocabulary is used to evoke the world of smells.
Beyond the bond that unites them through words, these two art forms are both sources of intense emotions. They are two universes that transport us and take us on a journey.
«Notes,» «accords,» «composition,» and even «perfume organ»: these words, used daily by perfumers, recall the vocabulary employed by musicians.
A complete sensory experience
Music and perfume complement each other. Perfume evokes emotions, while music amplifies them.
You have likely noticed that some brands associate these two disciplines to offer their customers a complete sensory experience.
Furthermore, some perfumers use music for inspiration and to stimulate their creativity, such as Kilian Hennessy with his «Les Parfums de Musique» collection, or Frédéric Malle. The latter collaborated with musicians to create his «Portrait of a Lady» collection, designed to evoke very specific emotions.
If we turn to other fields, we see that perfume can be associated with painting, dance, and even audiovisual arts.
The exhibition «Tricophilia» by Charlie Le Mindu
In February, the Studio des Parfums had the privilege of creating several fragrances for the exhibition «Tricophilia,» organized by Charlie Le Mindu.
Each perfume was designed to convey a message and capture the essence of each wig. Additionally, scents are a great way to create unforgettable memories. Thus, visitors could recall each of the displayed wigs.
At Studio des Parfums, create your own custom perfume and experience a unique, relaxed, and intimate atmosphere. Background music will accompany your olfactory workshop to help unleash your creativity.
